Frequently Asked Questions

Who attends the free consultation?

The free consultation for a child can be attended by one or two parents as well as the child. We usually leave it up to the family. Some parents prefer to come alone so they openly and honestly discuss the child while others prefer to allow the child to see the space and meet the therapist. Adults usually come to their consultation alone but they can bring a partner/spouse or parents as well.

How do I get started?

Getting started is simple. Reach out through our contact form and begin communicating with our office manager. She will direct your next steps. Please remember to let us know which office you are interested in as this will allow us to better assist you.

What makes you different?

We combine a thoughtful, human-centered approach with clear and consistent communication and reliable results. It’s not just what we do—it’s how we do it that sets us apart. We always incorporate creativity no matter the age or diagnosis of our clients. And perhaps most importantly we cater to the individual client by creating personalized treatment goals to match their needs.

How long might we have to wait on the waitlist?

If we do currently have a waitlist when you reach out our office manager will do her best to give you an estimate of time, however, please keep in mind that our services are tailor made for each client and therefor there is no definitive way of knowing exactly how long current clients will be in therapy for. This means we cannot say how long it may be until a spot opens up. We do stay in constant communication, always checking in to make sure you do want to remain on our waitlist. We also do our best to prioritize urgent cases.

Can I choose my therapist?

Yes you can make a request for a specific therapist, however, that could increase your time on our waitlist. We strongly encourage you to read our therapists bios to see if there is a certain individual that aligns with what you are looking for.

How long will my or my child’s therapy last?

This is another difficult question to estimate. Some adults and children require acute or short term therapy to work on mild issues while others require lengthier therapy due to the severity of what is going on. When you have your consultation you can always ask your therapist if they can give you an idea of how long therapy might be needed but keep in mind this is typically not something any therapist can guarantee. Most often if you are creating therapy goals, a good indication of completing therapy is when those goals have been met.
